Jake's cabin - Chipmunk - was in charge of morning devotional today. I was so proud - Jake spoke on prayer. Also, last night during worship Luke got up and led a prayer. I was so moved that tears just poured - couldn't stop for about 10 minutes. It's hard to describe the love I felt for him at that moment as I listened to him talking to God and the immense love I felt for God, for giving me these children. Well, it didn't stop there. Following the lesson, Lance (the speaker) invited the kids to write down anything they'd like to place on a wooden cross. He had a hammer and nails. They could write down a struggle or sin, or even something good in their lives that they were perhaps placing before God (if anyone does not leave his mother, father, etc.). Luke took a card and wrote for a very long time, then nailed his card to the cross - he was the last one in a long line of kids. When he returned to his seat, Jake put his hand on Luke's shoulder. Then, after the devotional, Jake went up and hugged Luke - then we had a family hug. It was a special moment.
