Mallory chose Smash Burger for her birthday dinner. The manager gave her a gift certificate for a free burger. For those of you who know of our Smash Burger addiction, this is a great gift!

She wanted Texas ornaments for the Christmas tree she puts in her room, and she got another nutcracker to add to her collection. This one represents the fun times we have in the kitchen together.

Mal opened several boxes with these notes in them......just to build the suspense.

a what????

She was so excited!!!

Here is what happened with the phone purchase. She was thrilled to go pick it out and have it tonight. She saw one she immediately liked, and we were ready to get it. As the salesperson was describing the features, she mentioned that the phone required a data plan (i.e.
internet access.) This was not part of our plan for a phone purchase for Mal. She was so disappointed, but handled it well. After looking around for a while, she decided there was not really another phone that she liked. The salesperson told us that a new model comes out on Sunday that is kind of like the one she wants. (It was right there in the store, but they can't bring it out yet.) Mal decided to wait to see the new model. It was a bit of an up and down experience, but she is so looking forward to getting her phone on Sunday.

A sweet tradition......13 roses from her daddy.

A little news about Mason. Tonight he got his 4
th and final signature necessary for him to begin working on his Eagle Project. It has been a long time coming to get these signatures. Now the hard work begins. He is going to install a 25 ft. flag pole at our church to be used by the school that operates there. Around the pole he is going to pour a 4x4 concrete slab. Leading from the sidewalk to the pole he will install a 9 foot
pavestone walkway. It is estimated that this project will take 110 man hours of work. (That is likely on the low side!) There are still several steps after the project before he can make Eagle, but we are thrilled to be starting the project.
