One of my favorite things about our Christmas this year, was reading an Advent story- a friend of mine let me borrow her book, and it made all of our evenings in December so special- lighting candles and reading about events (in a historical fiction setting) leading up to the birth of Christ. The book is shown later in this post.

Above- Anne Marie made this little bed for T by the fire....so cute!

Big pancake breakfast Christmas morning...

This is the Advent book, and our Advent candle wreath- This book is fantastic, especially for children in the read-aloud ages, it is a trilogy, this is the first.

Corbin reading the end of our Advent book, we loved how this book focused our thoughts on Jesus, and our walk with Him.

Another wonderful part of this CHRISTmas, was giving gifts that were complete surprises to our children- Anne Marie and Andrew were thrilled with their musical instruments!

Okay, and my VERY FAVORITE gift every year, is the calendar Corbin makes for me, filled with pictures and memories of our family, I just love it!!

Anne Marie and Andrew surprised us, and Anmer made me a hat, Andrew knitted Corbin a hat- such sweet gifts, and cozy, too!!!!

We are thankful for God's provisions that allow us to get fun gifts for our children, these "Amphibious Tanks" were a hit with the boys, lots of fun!!

Gabby got Pictionary Jr. for Thomas, and we shared lots of giggles playing together!!

This morning, Anmer and I went out to check on the horses, and poor Baylor was literally shivering!!! So, off to Tractor Supply, and now he is cozy and warm under his blanket!!!
Above, Corbin taped these birds...more like a plague of birds- I wonder what causes them to descend in such large numbers? Kinda spooky!

Let me clarify, most horses don't "need" blankets- none of ours wore one last winter. I think Baylor has lost some weight, and for some reason, his natural "winter coat" isn't very thick.
Oh, how I love these posts...to get to see your families, the neat ways you spend time together, growing closer to God, playing, laughing...makes me want to be there!
