Jake opened this morning's "See You at the Pole" with a little talk, scripture...
and a prayer.
A little bit after it started, the football team rounded the corner, removed their helmets, and knelt to pray. It was pretty touching to see.
Luke and Jake are in front of the lady in black, with their arms around each other's shoulders. The lady is Ms. Lucas, Jake's math teacher - Luke had her, also. At one point we broke into small groups to share and pray. Ms. Lucas joined the three of us - so special, to pray with one of his teachers!
After the concluding prayer Luke gave Jake a big hug, and I saw him take off his glasses and wipe his eyes. I asked him on the way home if he got emotional. He said he did, wasn't sure exactly why, but maybe because this is his last school year with Jake. How are we going to do this???
