Thanksgiving With Friends

We spent part of Thanksgiving Day with Shawn, Megan, Bailey and Reid Miller (our new preacher and family). Megan brought her camera - she loves taking pictures - and just sent these to me, so I thought I'd post and introduce you to these new friends! We partnered up in pairs to serve lunch at the Salvation Army. Part of our assignment was to sit down and talk with the visitors. We met a very nice man who went to Permian and was on the 1981 football team that won state. He had gone through rehab and had quite colorful language, but was kind enough to apologize to Luke (my table partner) when he let the most colorful words slip! Once he found out Luke went to Permian, he talked with ease and shared his past with us. He is now in the oilfield and gave us quite an animated history of life as a roughneck. After that outing we drove to Midland with the Millers and ate at Cracker Barrel. My guys then went duck hunting and just arrived home with three ducks! Hope you all had a blessed day!
