On Thursday morning we docked in Skagway, Alaska. We took a short van ride to the train for the 1 hour 45 minute scenic trip into Canada. There were a few other people in our car, but Kelly politely asked them to duck down for this picture. :)
The scenery was so beautiful.
We got off the train and met back up with our driver for a trip into the Yukon Territory.
We passed several lakes that were so calm we could see the reflection of the mountains.
Lunch was at a little outpost that had a dog mushing camp and some shops.
Some enjoyed their lunch inside a covered wagon.
The kids liked the signs scattered around the grounds.
Shelbs, the biggest animal lover in the group, had a blast!
Our driver took us back into Alaska to the ship.
These two pictures show the entire town of Skagway. They don't have a doctor, and a dentist comes around once a month.
You can see the cruise ships in the distance. The town is thankful for the cruising season when they get to make some money from the tourists.
Only one post left to go!
