We went camping the past few days at Ft. Richardson- about an hour and a half away. We met Mark's parents and sister's family there and had an early Thanksgiving. Below is our guided tour of the fort, which was built after the Civil War. It was VERY interesting!

It was just the girls, me, Mark, and his dad who toured it- it was right there on the campground. The guy was very knowledge and the kids found lots of it very fascinating.

This was the bathroom inside the fort's hospital. I was disappointed that none of it was original, but it was all time period furniture.

Hospital for the soldiers. Since there were very few Indian raids in the area, most of the men were treated for accidents and illnesses due to "extra curricular activites."

Pharmacy

Surgeon's office

Electric shock therapy machine

The dining area in the hospital- the food was amazingly real looking!!

Kitchen

Morgue

Thanksgiving dinner in the Crowell's camper. Mike really didn't wear that bib!

Liz's older son- Bregan. He is 6 months younger than Toby.

Baby Colby is 3 months old. The girls did great holding and feeding him. They asked me to have another baby and I said, "Uh, No!"

Looks like such a fun trip! I would have loved the tour also. You sound like me. I ask during every tour what is original.
Can't believe you put AK in the coffin!!
